Submitting an event to GayBayern: quality rules

A useful event listing answers what people need before travelling: what, when, where, for whom, under which conditions and who is responsible? GayBayern never publishes a submission automatically. Every claim is checked against a verifiable original source.

Required information

• Official title and responsible organisation.
• Date, confirmed start and any end time.
• Venue, public address or meeting point.
• Audience, age limit, price and admission rules.
• Direct contact and verifiable official source.

The source must support the facts

A private message or unlabelled image is insufficient. Suitable evidence includes an organiser page, official calendar, public post from the responsible account or ticket system. If no time is published, GayBayern can create a transparent date-only entry but will not invent one.

Specific, not promotional

Describe programme, process and audience clearly. Avoid unsupported superlatives such as largest, safest or fully accessible. Prefer verifiable features: moderated workshop, step-free main entrance, interpretation by registration or free admission.

Access and safety

State what is known about steps, lift, toilet, seating, assistance, sensory conditions, language and contact. A symbol is not enough. Conduct rules, responsible staff, a reporting route and a clear photography policy improve community safety.

Images and rights

Supply only material you may use and authorise. Name the creator and credit. Do not submit sensitive-context photographs without clear consent. If no suitable material exists, GayBayern prefers its own artwork to an unlicensed image.

Changes and cancellations

Send corrections through the same official contact and link the update. New times, venue changes, sell-outs, audience changes and cancellations matter most. A durable organiser page is more useful than a deleted social post.

After submission

1. The item enters an internal review queue.
2. Editorial review compares facts, evidence and rights.
3. Unclear claims stay unresolved or prompt follow-up.
4. Only approval creates a published record with verification date.
